When you’re planning a Walt Disney World trip as a vegan family (especially a big one), dining can feel like a bit of a gamble. Add character dining to the mix, and the stakes go up. Is the food actually worth the price? Will there be enough options? Will the experience be magical or just meh? We had those same questions before visiting 1900 Park Faire at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
Spoiler alert: It was magical. With chocolate muffins. Let me break it down for you.
1900 Park Faire is a charming character dining experience located at the Grand Floridian Resort, and no—you don’t have to be staying at the resort to dine here. Breakfast and dinner are both offered, though our family visited for breakfast (twice!). This is a buffet-style, all-you-care-to-enjoy meal, and the current theme is all about Wish Makers. Think: Mirabel, Prince Ali, Cinderella, and Tiana making rounds while you sip your coffee.
Reservations open 60 days out and they go fast, especially for larger parties. Set a reminder, enlist a travel buddy, and be ready at 6 a.m. Eastern to snag your spot.
Let’s talk food—the number one question we always get. For vegan families, 1900 Park Faire offers a decent selection, especially considering the general state of breakfast buffets.
The vegan options we found included:
Coffee and the beloved POG juice (passion fruit, orange, and guava) are also included in the price—yes, unlimited refills of that tropical goodness!
While the variety isn’t huge, everything we tried was genuinely good. The chocolate muffins were a hit with all my kids (and me, let’s be honest). My picky eaters were happy with fruit, toast, and waffles, and I was thrilled to have something warm and filling like the tofu scramble and oatmeal.
You can also speak to a Cast Member for any allergy or dietary concerns, and they’ll be happy to help. Every time we’ve visited, the staff has been kind, patient, and proactive in making sure we had what we needed.
Pro tip: Consider doing this experience on a non-park (aka resort or rest) day so you’re not using up valuable park time. Or, if you’re planning a Magic Kingdom day like we did, book the latest breakfast reservation available and treat it like an early lunch and mid-morning break. It worked perfectly to refuel and recharge without having to leave the area.
Character dining isn’t cheap. That’s no secret. But part of what you’re paying for is the chance to meet characters without standing in long park lines. And let me tell you—the character interaction at 1900 Park Faire was some of the best we’ve had.
Each character spent quality time at our table. They weren’t rushed, and they were fully in character—engaging, silly, and genuinely fun. Mirabel danced with one of my daughters, Cinderella chatted about chores with another, and Prince Ali gave my son tips on how to impress Princess Jasmine.
They also do a “Wish Maker Ceremony” during breakfast, where everyone in the restaurant joins in a special moment of magic. My kids were all in. It’s one of those sweet, unexpected moments that makes a Disney breakfast more than just a meal.
Is 1900 Park Faire vegan-friendly? Yes. Is it the most robust vegan meal you’ll ever have? No. But is it a magical, low-stress, character-filled start to your Disney day that works for vegans, even picky ones? Absolutely.
We left full, happy, and totally enchanted.
If you’re a large family navigating food allergies or dietary preferences, this is one spot we’d absolutely recommend adding to your Disney itinerary. Just plan ahead, get that reservation early, and come hungry—with a phone ready for character selfies!
